African American Youth HIV/AID fact;
African American Youth continue to be one of the most severely affected by HIV infection in the United States. In fact, black youth represent half of all new HIV infections among young people aged 13 to 29



Decatur, Georgia, December 3, 2011- STAND Inc. a non-profit, community based organization located in Decatur Ga. We are committed to educating the community and addressing health disparities with a renewed sense of family preservation. We focus on solutions that positively address social plagues such as homelessness, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS prevention, and substance abuse, which directly contribute to the demise of the family.

We are pleased to announce that on Saturday Dec. 3, 2011 STAND, Inc will observe World AIDS Day with an event that will feature various activities and a program dedicated to empowering youth’s form the ages of 15 to 25 through dialogue about issues that directly impact them, i.e. HIV/STD infection, discrimination, the rate of death among youth and other cause. The program provides keynote speakers who will also serve as moderators, service providers, educational information as well as entertainment dedicated to the theme of “GETTING TO ZERO”.
